I typically frame my works on paper in contemporary wood frames with a 3/8 " front overlap and a 1½" profile. (Profile is side view). The wood is natural satin-finish light maple. The painting itself is mounted invisibly on a white archival matboard set back in the frame with invisible spacers, creating a shadow-box effect.
